The windows media player software is an all-in-one entertainment system for your computer. You can play and rip CD's, watch videos, copy music and much more. The windows media software is one of the world's most popular programs.

It does however have a few issues. First off, it doesn't play a lot of the software that you will commonly come across, especially if you download a lot. Also, it can't locate music and video files across your system, unlike iTunes it will have to have only one default directory.

How To Uninstall Windows Media Player

As the software is automatically installed on a lot of systems you may not even realise that it's there. To delete it is quite simple. All you have to use is the default windows programs that will already be on your computer. To remove the software you must:

1. Press the Start button or the Windows Orb. This will depend what version of windows you have currently on your system.
2. Once inside navigate to the Control Panel area.
3. Search for the Uninstall A Program icon. If you are using windows XP or lower this will be the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. Wait for the list to appear. Once it is loaded locate the Windows Media Player icon and highlight the file.
5. Press the Uninstall button. Again, if you are using XP or lower this will be Install/Uninstall.
6. A new window will appear. Keep pressing next until it starts the uninstall process.
7. Restart your computer.
